There are two main things that will ensure that your heating and cooling equipment will last and perform as it should; a quality installation (as provided by Montani Mechanical Group’s factory trained and licensed installers), and regular preventative maintenance. Let’s face it; you wouldn’t drive your car for 100,000 miles without an oil change, so why would you expect to run your heating and cooling equipment year after year without having it maintained? Most equipment manufacturers even require that your equipment undergo regular routine maintenance to keep the warranty in place. Regular routine maintenance is vital in making absolutely sure that your system won’t fail you when you need it most; when it’s extremely hot, or extremely cold. This isn’t always just a nuisance, it can sometimes result in costly repairs due to pipes having frozen in the winter time, vet bills for your pets overheating, or if you have small children or elderly people in the residence, extreme temperatures can lead to serious health issues.
As part of our maintenance routine, we will check the operation of all of your equipment, do a startup, and check the amp draw on all of the vital components of your heating and cooling equipment. We will also change out your air filters and clear your condensate drain lines. We offer bi-annual maintenances, and it includes two (2) routine scheduled inspections a year. This includes outdoor coil cleaning and adjustments as required to maintain peak operating efficiency. Montani Mechanical Group will provide a planned preventive maintenance program tailored specifically to the customer’s covered equipment. All scheduled labor shall be performed during normal working hours, and all labor shall be performed with qualified personnel directly employed and supervised by Montani Mechanical Group. Our Preventative Maintenance programs are so competitively priced, we practically pay you to make sure your equipment is well-maintained. The first year of Preventative Maintenance on new equipment installed by Montani Mechanical Group is included with new equipment purchases. (Does not apply to home-warranty installations). The Homesmart program from AEP also issues a $50 rebate on all preventative maintenances on electric heating equipment (including heat pumps) per year.
Diagnostics and tests will be performed each season as follows:
- Cleaning — condenser coil surfaces, fan impellers and blades, electrical contacts, nozzles, pilot and igniters.
- Aligning — Belts drives, drive couplings, coil fins, air fins.
- Calibrating — Safety controls, pressure and temperature controls
- Adjusting — Belt tensions, refrigerant charge, fan RPM, superheat, burner fuel/air ratios, gas pressures, set points of limits and controls.
- Lubricating — Motors, bearings, linkages
- Clearing — Primary and auxiliary Drain Lines
- Changing — Air filters on each visit (homeowner should replace between maintenances as required)
